The Mayor of Amman has officially launched Schools Reinventing Amman 2026, a collaboration between C40 Cities, Community Jameel and Minecraft Education.

Schools Reinventing Amman is a design challenge for students in the city to create a healthier, climate-friendly city of the future.

This year’s challenge invites school children aged 6–18 from Amman to transform public spaces in the Al-Yadudah neighbourhood into climate-resilient, inclusive, and food-secure areas. Students are encouraged to design solutions that support urban farming, reduce food waste, and improve access to healthy food for everyone.

Their ideas will be reviewed by city officials and environmental experts, giving students the opportunity to learn about climate action and actively shape the future of their city.

More than 400 students from 24 schools in Amman have been invited to take part in Schools Reinventing Amman, designing a climate-resilient neighbourhood for an inclusive, food-secure and sustainable city.
