Tune in to learn about the C40 Reinventing Cities winning project, LOC.
Milan, the 15 minute city: the LOC model – Loreto Open Community is part of a series of events dedicated to LOC - Loreto Open Community, a valuable opportunity to learn more about the 15-minute city model, conceived by Carlos Moreno himself.
The urban regeneration project LOC - Loreto Open Community, winner of the C40 Reinventing Cities international call for bids, showcases Nhood's approach to working with the public to restore Piazzale Loreto's former liveability to the people, making it more sustainable, on a human scale, surrounded by services, wellbeing, greenery, and culture.
LOC - Loreto Open Community
LOC strives to be a manifesto of sustainability, climate service and support for biodiversity: green areas become powerful players in an urban reforestation process.
The project transforms a heavy traffic roundabout into a place dedicated to low-emission mobility and intermodality. It creates 24,000 square meters of public space, with 69% of the project surface dedicated to public areas and integrates a multilevel green square with an urban forest of 300 trees. The winning project aims to be completed in time for the Olympics in 2026!
More information on the project can be found here.
