City leaders and partners gathered for Where Housing Meets Climate, a C40 Cities session that shifted the conversation from "Climate vs. Housing" to "Climate + Housing." The discussion featured Kate Gallego, Mayor of Phoenix; Federico Gutiérrez, Mayor of Medellín; Laia Bonet, First Deputy Mayor of Barcelona, alongside representatives from Holcim Foundation for Sustainable Construction, Arup, Ramboll, Urban Partners, One Planet Sovereign Wealth Fund and the Pavillon de l'Arsenal.

Panellists discussed how public-private collaboration, innovative financing, adaptive reuse and brownfield redevelopment can help cities deliver housing while supporting climate ambitions.

Highlighting the importance of collaboration with the private sector, Mayor of Medellín Federico Gutiérrez said:

"We're working with the private sector, because the city does not develop on its own. The way to do this is through public-private partnerships and to be productive. You need housing, you need land, and you need regulations for developers to carry out projects that are financially viable."

The session showcased how cities and partners are advancing integrated approaches to housing delivery and climate action through sustainable urban regeneration.
