Jakarta Celebrates Winners of the Fourth Students Reinventing Cities
The winners of Student Reinventing Cities (SRC) Jakarta, Trust Onrust, which received first place, and Aqua Laguna, awarded an honourable mention, were recently invited to participate in the Partnerships in Environmental Management for the Seas of East Asia (PEMSEA) Network of Local Governments event, hosted in Jakarta.
Their participation provided a unique platform to present their innovative coastal sustainability proposals to international stakeholders and city leaders, highlighting Jakarta’s commitment to empowering young leaders and actively involving students in shaping the city’s sustainable future.
A Stage for Youth Leadership
During the three-day event, the SRC4 winners had the opportunity to receive recognition, share their ideas, and engage with key stakeholders, demonstrating how student-led innovation can contribute to sustainable urban development
Official Recognition: Both teams received their SRC certificates from the Governor of Jakarta during the opening ceremony.
Engagement with Investors: The students presented their ideas in a dedicated session with potential investors, gaining visibility and feedback on advancing their solutions.
Learning in Context: Through a visit to Onrust Island, participants connected their proposals with local environmental and social realities.
