The Reinventing Cities lighthouse winning project Haleco in Montreal opens its doors with an event hosted by the winning team, Mayor Valérie Plante and C40 Director Mark Watts.
The project will provide affordable housing while creating a sustainable community. Highlights:
- There will be 66 affordable housing units and 40 social housing units all powered by 100% renewable energy.
- The building will hold LEED Platinum certification.
- It will provide services for the community including a zero-waste market, bike repair centre, a fablab and basement level urban farm.
